Why we think Kate Winslet is a Type 3
Inspirational advice. She advises everyone to never give up on their dreams and to make the most of all the opportunities that life has to offer.
Glory. She speaks about the glory of winning an Oscar and how that was her dream from a very early age.
Aggressive pursuit of roles. She is not one to sit back and wait for roles to come to her. She has spoken candidly about how aggressive she was getting the role of Rose in “Titanic.” In her words, she “took the bull by the horn.”
Demeanor. Winslet presents as a confident, self-proclaimed 'go getter.’
Pursuit of success. She was highly driven and ambitious from a young age, starting her acting career at 11 and becoming a successful actress in her teens. She has gone on to have multiple Academy Award nominations and a win for Best Actress.
Concern for approval. In an interview about Woody Allen, she spoke openly about how badly she wanted his approval for a dialect she was working on. She equates his approval to getting a present. Although all actors want approval, especially from famous directors, the way she spoke about the approval is indicative of the Type 3’s desperation for it.
Adaptability. Winslet takes on diverse roles and pushes herself to develop new skills. Her roles have varied from a young aristocrat in "Titanic" to a former Nazi concentration camp guard in "The Reader" to a quirky, free-spirited woman in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind."
Outgoing and extroverted. She is often the party planner for the casts during a movie shoot. This gives us confidence that she is not a Type 4, which is often how she is labeled on the internet.
Unabashed way of presenting herself. She talks about 'being amazing' in “Avatar.” This also helps give us confidence that she is not a Type 4.
Competitive. She has spoken about how she is always trying to improve herself and how competitive she is, regardless of what she is pursuing. For example, she was very competitive about how long she could hold her breath.
