Why we think David Beckham is a Type 3

  • Demeanor. Beckham presents as confident, poised, and charismatic. He has a strong presence that commands attention.

  • Focus on image. Beckham's impeccable grooming and fashion sense contribute to his overall image, making him a global style icon. He often appears on "best dressed" lists and as the face of different fashion campaigns, including Armani and H&M. He has been featured on the covers of numerous magazines, such as GQ, Vogue, and Elle (this is also indicative of his 4 Wing).

  • Trendsetter. Throughout his career, Beckham has adopted various fashion styles and hairstyles, ranging from casual wear to high-fashion suits and from buzz cuts to long hair (this is also indicative of his 4 Wing).

  • Opulence for attention. In 1999, he married Victoria Adams, a former Spice Girl, in a lavish ceremony that cost around £800,000. The couple sat on golden thrones during their wedding, which many considered ostentatious and superficial. Beckham and his family own multiple lavish homes, including the extravagant £31.5 million Beckingham Palace in Hertfordshire, England. This extravagance is likely an attempt to prove his value both to others and himself.

  • Drive for professional achievement. In 2002, Beckham suffered a broken foot, but this didn't stop his ambition and drive. Despite the injury, he was still seen practicing free-kicks. As a result of this dedication, Beckham's soccer career is marked by numerous accomplishments, including playing for top clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, and Paris Saint-Germain.

  • Business ambitions beyond playing soccer. After retiring, Beckham expanded his brand into various business ventures, including fashion, fragrances, and partnerships with major corporations like H&M, Pepsi, and Adidas.  In 2014, Beckham announced his plans to launch a Major League Soccer (MLS) team in Miami, which came to fruition as Inter Miami CF in 2020. In 2021, Beckham became a co-owner of Guild Esports, a London-based esports organization, displaying his ability to adapt and diversify his business interests.

  • Leadership in the face of setbacks. In 1998, Beckham faced intense public backlash after being ejected from a World Cup match against Argentina. Despite the criticism, he worked hard to regain his reputation and won various individual and team awards in subsequent years, including being named the England Footballer of the Year in 2003. In 2000, he was named England's team captain, a testament to his character and resilience. Leading by example, he inspired his teammates and played a critical role in re-establishing himself as a national hero.

  • Strategic move to LA. Beckham's move to play for LA Galaxy in 2007 was not just a football career decision, but also a strategic move to grow his personal brand in the United States.
