Why we think Tiger Woods is a Type 3

  • Intense ambition. He has a relentless drive to dominate the sport of golf and to become the best there ever was.

  • Pursuit of goals. He is competitive, hard working, and extremely goal-oriented.

  • Demeanor. He has a confident demeanor that conveys his commitment, focus, and athletic prowess. He usually stands tall, with squared shoulders and a straight back, projecting an air of self-assurance, professionalism, and composure. His body language is typically relaxed but purposeful, reflecting the focus and determination that have defined his career.

  • Intense focus on winning. He is often explicit about winning when he speaks, whether that be about golf or other pursuits.

  • Confident all the time? He almost always presents as extremely confident and calm, but we get the feeling that this is not how he always feels deep down in his core.

  • Performance mode. When he is being interviewed, it can be difficult to know if you are getting the “real” Tiger.

  • Turning on the charm. He is charming and inspirational with an endearing smile.

  • Attunement to perception. When he is being interviewed, he appears to be attuned to how the interviewer and the audience is likely relating to and valuing him.

  • Lies. His infidelity exposed his “living a life of a lie.”

  • Legacy. He is very focused on how he will be remembered.
